Spotify Will Soon Let You Share Songs as “Audio Surprises” with Friends

Spotify Is Testing a New Way to Share Music

In the ever-growing music streaming industry, Spotify continues to outshine its competitors, such as YouTube Music and Apple Music. One of the main reasons for its popularity is the constant introduction of new and exciting features for its users. Now, Spotify is testing an intriguing new feature that adds a touch of mystery to sharing songs with others.

Introducing “Share it as an audio surprise”

A recent discovery by Twitter user Saadh Jawwadh reveals that Spotify is experimenting with a feature called “Share it as an audio surprise.” This feature aims to transform the sharing experience by making it more enjoyable and mysterious. When selected, users will have the option to conceal the album art of a song and replace it with a gift wrap before sharing it with friends or family.

In a shared song posted on Jawwadh’s Instagram story, the audio surprise feature is demonstrated. By selecting the feature, the album art and song details remain hidden from the viewer until they click on the “Play on Spotify” option.

This exciting feature comes after Spotify was observed testing song lyrics as a paid feature on its platform. However, CJ Stanley, the co-head of global communications at Spotify, clarified in an interview with The Verge that this decision is merely part of a test. It remains uncertain if and when this feature will be officially implemented. We will keep you updated on any further developments. In the meantime, we would love to hear your thoughts on this innovative Spotify feature.
