Jio’s Cheapest Plan No Longer Available; Here’s the One That Has Replaced It!

Jio Launches New ‘Cheapest’ Prepaid Plan: Rs 149 Plan Takes the Lead

Jio Has a New ‘Cheapest’ Prepaid Plan

Jio, the leading telecom operator in India, has recently dropped its cheapest prepaid plan, which was priced at Rs 119. Although this move aims to improve the Average Revenue Per User (ARPU), it may disappoint many customers. However, Jio has introduced a new plan that has taken the title of Jio’s most affordable plan in India. Let’s dive into the details.

Introducing the Rs 149 Plan

With the discontinuation of the Rs 119 plan, Jio’s new most affordable option is the Rs 149 plan. While there is also a Rs 61 5G upgrade plan available, it acts as an add-on rather than a standalone plan.

The Rs 149 plan offers several benefits, including 1GB of daily data, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day. Additionally, subscribers of this plan gain access to JioTV, JioCloud, and JioCinema services. The plan remains valid for a duration of 20 days.

Jio Rs 149 plan

It’s worth noting that the previous Rs 119 plan provided users with an increased 1.5GB of data per day, unlimited calls, and 100 SMS per day. However, its validity was limited to just 14 days. With the new cheapest plan, subscribers will have to compromise on data quantity but gain a longer usage duration.

Jio’s decision to drop the Rs 119 plan isn’t new. In the past, the telecom operator also discontinued its cheapest Rs 1 plan without any clear explanation. It seems that these temporary additions to the plan lineup were aimed at attracting more customers.

Comparing Jio’s new cheapest plan with Airtel’s offerings, it’s evident that Jio still provides a better deal. Airtel discontinued its Rs 99 plan due to similar reasons and replaced it with the Rs 155 plan. The Airtel plan offers 1GB of data, unlimited calls, 300 SMS, and access to Wynk Music and a free HelloTunes subscription. However, it has a validity period of 24 days. In contrast, Jio’s Rs 149 plan appears more attractive.

As a Jio user, it’s now time to consider whether the Rs 149 plan suits your needs. If you’re interested, you can visit Jio’s website or download the MyJio app to avail of this plan. Share your thoughts and plans in the comments below!
