**iPhone 15 Camera Upgrade: Leaked Again**
The iPhone 15 series is expected to come with several impressive upgrades, particularly in the camera department. While the Pro models will have their fair share of interesting features, even the standard iPhone 15 might not be left behind. In fact, recent rumors suggest that the standard iPhone 15 could receive a Pro-exclusive 48MP main camera, further expanding its photography capabilities.
**iPhone 15 Camera Upgrade Leaked Again**
Renowned analyst, Ming-Chi Kuo, has hinted at the presence of a powerful 48MP primary camera for both the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models. This is a significant jump from the non-Pro models’ 12MP configuration seen in the previous iPhone 14 series. Last year, Apple restricted this particular feature to only the iPhone 14 Pro models.
The rumors about this camera upgrade have resurfaced again, with speculation that Apple may introduce a new stacked CMOS image sensor (CIS) for the iPhone 15. This new sensor is said to capture more light, resulting in brighter and more detailed images. Sony, Apple’s supplier for the CIS, is reportedly increasing its production by 100-120%, allowing for this improvement. However, this move may reduce supplies for high-end Android phones, forcing OEMs to explore alternative suppliers.

The iPhone 15 might also feature a hybrid lens with a single glass element and six plastic elements, boasting an aperture of f/1.7. This lens configuration is expected to capture up to 20% more light, although it could be considered a downgrade from the iPhone 14’s f/1.5 aperture.
The inclusion of a 48MP camera in the iPhone 15 is particularly exciting for users of more affordable iPhones. This upgrade will enable them to capture more detailed images. However, it’s worth noting that shooting in RAW format with a 48MP camera produces large files that can take up significant storage space on the iPhone. Nonetheless, it is a positive move by Apple to bring some of its Pro-level features to the non-Pro models.
In addition to the camera upgrades, Apple is also expected to incorporate “Dynamic Island” technology across the entire iPhone 15 lineup. Furthermore, there have been speculations about the introduction of the USB Type-C port in all 2023 iPhones, potentially replacing the Lightning port. Design changes, improved performance, and enhanced battery life are also anticipated. The iPhone 15 series was initially slated for a September release, but there could be potential delays.
As with any rumor, it’s essential to await official details from Apple regarding the iPhone 15. More information should be released soon. In the meantime, we’d love to hear your thoughts. Are you excited about the iPhone 15’s alleged camera upgrade? Let us know in the comments below.
